Information still required as to Maka Renata's whereabouts
Police continue to work today on locating Maka Renata.
Detective Senior Sergeant Virginia Le Bas said " that there has been some good information provided as to the possible whereabouts of Maka and that these sightings are being followed up by police staff".
She said that " the most postive information suggests that Maka is in the Wellington area'.There have been members of the public who have called in with other information about Maka being seen in other parts of New Zealand however these sightings have been negatred as being Maka Renata.
She askes that anyone who may have seen Maka or who is perhaps providing him with asistance should contact their nearest police station immediately.
Police are calling for Maka Renata a convicted double rapist to turn himself in amid fears he may reoffend while on the run.
